Last weekend the whole family went for a 3 days hike in the mountains. The weather forecast was actually not too good, with predictions of rain. We walked to the first cabin, Sandvatn, friday afternoon and evening, and didn't get rained on. It was still relatively chilly. We had a good dinner before going to bed.
The next day we had lovely weather for the most streneous hike, the one that Cornell and I had problems with 10 years ago. 5 hours of hiking took us to the next cabin, Blaafjellenden.
The kids did super, and carried all their clothes, sleeping bag and equipment. Thomas has been a very good hiker for several years, and now Linda through 2 big trips this spring has proved that she is also very capable. As long as you enjoy what you're doing it can be done.
The 3 days of hiking took us to elevations of 1100 metres several times. As you can see from the picture, there's still some snow left.
