Belma and Howard
For 4 days we've had lovely company all the way from New Zealand, as Belma and Howard have made it back to Europe for vacation.
Sunday we all went for a good hike in the Arboretum area, and stopped for waffles and coffee at the cafe. The blueberrys were ripe, so we all picked and ate directly off the bush. In the afternoon we had Karl and Marta and their kids over for dinner. Howard used to live in their house before moving to New Zealand, and we all had a nice time together.
Monday we drove to Frafjord and hiked up to Månafossen. My parents came with us, and had no problem getting through the climb up to the water fall. Afterwards we hiked up to Mån, and had a look at the new cabin up there. After the hike we had dinner at Byrkjedalstunet, and then drove through Gloppedalsura before heading home. We had spiced scampi in the evening.
Tuesday we hiked to Dalsnuten and then to the beach before heading to my parents house for dinner. We had gravlax, mussels and shrimp, and a very enjoyable evening.
Belma struggled a cold while she was here, but today she felt better. We all enjoyed meeting her, and we were all very impressed by her efforts to learn Norwegian. Today she even picked up 3 Norwegian novels at a bookstore. She's one brave lady :-)
All in all we had a great time, and hopefully we'll meet again in the near future.
Knut
