Kattegat Cup

Svein F is the other trainer for our team

Last week Thomas and I went for a soccer tournament in Denmark. The cup is called Kattegat cup, quite a big event with somewhat more than 100 teams participating. We left early Wednesday morning, driving with two other kids in our car. We took the ferry from Kristiansand to Hirtshals (Denmark), and arrived in Grenaa in the evening.

Thursday the games started, and we lost our first match. Friday we lost both our matches, which ment that we had to go on to the B-playoff. Saturday we one our first match, which meant that we had to go on to the quarter finals. In the middle of the day we played, and won, also the quarter final. In the evening we then had to play the semi final, which we did. And lost. Oh well. By then we hardly had any players left, injuries and fatigue made it hard to keep 11 players on the field. Thomas, which is actually a very fit young man managed to play all the matches, from start to end. Just a couple of other players accomplished the same.

All in all we had a really great time, even though by the time we came home we were pretty exhausted. We came home quite late Sunday evening, and it was almost 2 before we got to bed. Afer four nights with 15 kids in a classrom my own, quiet bedroom felt pretty good.
