The "Seven Mountain Hike" in Sandnes

Almost done - now we're getting tired!

Yesterday Thomas and I went on the annual 7-Mountain-Hike here in Sandnes. This was our 4th year in a row and we like it more and more each year. This year the weather didn't look like it was going to cooperate at all, but we can't let details like that stop us, can we? We started Sunday morning on our bikes at 10:00 AM and biked 1/2 hour to the starting point. We were already pretty damp by that time as the drizzle was quite heavy. We put on rain clothes as soon as we started, but soon found out that walking through the woods the drizzle wasn't so bad.
This trip took us 13,5 miles, up and down seven mountains with an accumulated ascent of almost 3000 feet! At the first three tops the fog and drizzle were so thick there was no view at all, but as we arrived at the real killer top the sun actually poked through the clouds and we were greeted with a great view!
This hike is getting more and more popular each year and there were lots of people there yesterday. There is a route where you only go to four tops and after that point there were a lot less people on the trails. We hiked for 6 hours with only a few short breaks. Last night I thought my legs would fall off, but I'm better today. I don't think Thomas feels a thing today!
