A foggy morning in Viglesdal
This weekend we took another mountain hike. We went to the cabin in Viglesdal and stayed there two nights, taking a nice day hike on Saturday. We managed to leave work early on Firday and were in the car by 3PM. It takes about 1 1/2 hours to get to the parking lot and we had plenty of time to get to the cabin before dark. The weather looked quite dark as we put on our packs and sure anough we were rained upon by the time we got to the cabin. No matter, as we planned to stay there 2 nights and had plenty of time to dry things out.
Saturday morning greeted us with a foggy view of the valley but the sun kept threatening to dry it up. We packed a lunch, fishing poles for the gise, books for Linda and I and we headed up the trail towards the next cabin, Stakken. We had, however no plans on making it to Stakken. Instead, we stopped at a beautiful set of lakes and the boys fished while Linda and I enjoyed ourselved in the semi sunny weather looking at the incredible views, watching the boys fish and reading our books. After some hours we had a lunch of tortillas, cheese and sausage. Then a while later we made tomatoe soup and ate the six small trout they had caught. They were small but delicious and only made us want more! By the time we got back to the cabin it was past 8PM and the cabin was quite full of people. So the 4 of us moved into one bedroom to make room for the others.
Sunday morning arrived chilly and overcast, but there was no rain in the clouds. We ate a relaxed breakfast, packed our things together, swept, washed and left the charming area for the 2 hour hike back to the car. Along the way we stopped several times for looks at the scenery, drinks of fresh mountain water and a nice long lunch on the rocks in the middle of the rapids. It was another great weekend - the kind memories are made of!
