Egersund Christmas City

After 75 days of rain, we finally woke up to clear skies, bright winter sun and cool tempratures. The perfect day for a day trip, and luckily Ragnar had planned one for us. Him an Jane had invited the whole family, including my parents down to Egersund, a city about an hour's drive south of us. Every December the city set up a Christmas fair, with booths, pixies, choirs, ponies, bands and Santa Clauses down town. Really neat and charming.

We picked up Ragnar's mother in Stavanger before heading south, and arrived in Egersund around two. We spent a couple of hours walking the streets, looking at the displays, smelling the foods and bonfires and enjoying the atmosphere.

Afterwards we drove up the hill to Jane, Ragnar and Ketil's home. They had prepared a lovely meal for us, with hams, smoked salmon, Belgian cheese, Waldorf and potato salads, hamburgers and scrambled eggs. Very, very good - we even sampled the Christmas cakes and had Ice cream with the coffee afterwards.

For those who weren't driving, there was even beer. The local brewery, Berentsen, had got an award for the best Christmas beer this year, needless to say that the beer is outstanding.

Before going home, Ragnar and I had a game of table tennis.
Ragnar could have blamed the beer, but he didn't. He's such a sport :-)

Just came home - it's almost nine, and we've all had a great day!

Neimen! Hvem er han som vandrer forbi med sekk og lu... eh, nei. En annen Haaland kom ihvertfall med i blinkskuddet idet han passerer en butikk med samme navn som hans datter.
