Knaben blizzard

We've just arrived home from our winter vacation, four days of extreme weather conditions at Knaben. We set off after work Wednesday evening. The kids have been off school the whole week, and Rebecca and I took two days off work to be able to get some valuable winter, family and friend time. We arrived at Knaben around 9PM, and the snow storm was already quite fierce. Thorhild came down to the parking lot, and helped us carry some of our stuff to the cabin. She also made sure we found the way - it was not obvious even though it's only like a 10 minute walk.

Thursday and Friday we went for hikes in the Knaben village, staying on the roads and away from the most open spaces. The wind was blowing like crazy, and with 10 below zero it was biting cold. We practically dressed in everything we had, and wore goggles to protect as much of our faces as possible.

Saturday we drove down the valley, and found shelter from the storm in the woods. We got a nice day of skiing, even though Aadne had to stay at the cabin and fight a spot of flu.

Being inside a lot is not a big problem. Thorhild and Aadne's cabin is great, all the facilities, lots of food, games and good company. Thomas and Vegard spent quite a bit of time on the xbox together, while Linda and Therese hung out and had a good time just chatting and staying awake during the night.

All in all, great vacation, with weather never to forget. Thanks Thorhild and Aadne!

Knut
