Jenni and Trent in Norway

This weekend we had the pleasure of a visit from Jenni and Trent. I picked them up at the airport on Thursday afternoon and we drove striaght home to repack the car with 4 sets of skis, Trents snowboard, helmets, warm clothes a bit of food and 6 adults. It was a tight fit and not much leg room, but we made it. We drove about 3 1/2 hours to Sauda where we rented a small cabin by the waterfront. We drove 5 km straight up hill to the slopes on Friday and Saturday.
The weather was as perfect as we could wish for. Lots of sun, no wind, just below freezing and plenty of snow.
The slopes opened at noon on Friday and closed at 8PM. We were there the entire 8 hours. Thomas and Linda took only short breaks, Trent and Knut took normal breaks and Jenni and I took it really easy. Even in the evening when the lights came on, it was perfect. You could see the hills perfectly and it was so nice. Jenni really got the hang of it at the end and was having a good time (right Jen?)
We were back at the cabin quite late and didn't get dinner in us until 10:30 or so. We were also totally exhausted and all slept like babies that night.
On Saturday, the slopes opened at 10, but we didn't make it up so early. I drove Knut, Trent, Thomas and Linda up as soon as breakfast was done, then came back to Jenni at the cabin. We emptied the cabin, checked out and bought something for dinner before heading up to the slopes. By the time we got there both Trent and Knut were taking a break so I took a ticket and ran several times before it closed. Again the weather was perfect.
We started driving home while it was still light out and they got to see some of the beautiful scenery we went past in the dark. Saturday evening was filled with simple but good food, and lots of talk about movies, music, stories and you name it. We all enjoied ourselves.
Sunday after breakfast, we went up to Arnlaug's for a nice visit. She gave Jenni a pair of knitted mittens like she made for Daniel for Christmas. She is so sweet! Then we took a nice walk up Steinfjellet before driving them to the ariport. The weekend flew by, but it was certainly lots of fun! Thanks for the visit - hope to see you two here again soon!
