Winter vacation took the whole family to Bad Gastein, Austria. A great place for skiing, but quite far away since we drove all the way from Norway. We went together with Thorhild, Aadne, Vegard and Therese, and spent a night in Hannover both ways.
The hotel we stayed at in Bad Gastein was great. We enjoyed good dinners and super breakfasts, and getting back and forth to the ski resorts was no problem, we had a shuttle service to our disposal the whole time. The skiing was great, our longest decent was close to 11 km long. Cool to do that four times in a row!
Driving through Denmark and Germany was quite a challenge, as there was a snow storm going through Europe. The ferry from Norway to Denmark was quite bumpy, and decided not to return to Norway after reaching Denmark. Going home was somewhat easier, but we hit a LOT of traffic in southern parts of Germany, delaying our trip with several hours.
