Nordenskioldstoppen

Skiing to the top of Nordenskioldstoppen, 1050 m above sea level in fog, strong winds and 10 below is not your every day adventure. The trip started out quite mellow, but as we acended the first 450 meters conditions turned to the worse. The wind picked up, the temperatures dropped and the clouds came flowing down the mountain.

At the very top we huddled behind the old weather station - a pile of ice and snow, not even the chimney was exposed. Kjetil and Linda served hot meals, coffee and hot water for everybody to enjoy.

As we skied back down, suddenly the fog lifted and the decent turned into a party of downhill!

Thanks again to Kjetil and Linda for perfect guiding and hosting!
