Harvest party at Greg and Linda at Boondocks is something totally different. Last Saturday everybody at the Farm was invited over to participate, so Ray, Ceci, Tali, Terry and our family went over to the Kvasnickas at 4:30 PM. By then there were already 20 people in the blueberry patch picking, and since they were all friendly and interesting people, we joined them in their harvesting efforts.
Greg and Linda's farm was prepared for the harvest celebration; a big tent was put up in their yard, parking was arranged, drinks and snacks were set up, and lights were put up and turned on as the sun set. By then the picking had stopped, and foods were served. Venison brats, Sloppy Joe's, salads, cakes, beer, wine, lemonade and fruits tasted delicious in the hot Minnesota night, all beautifully prepared and very good.
After the food the music and dance started. The Kvasnickas had hired a band to play for us, and what a band: The String Benders Union, three guys playing everything from Johnny Cash to the Stray Cats, and they played it very well too. True talent and good music.
By 11 PM everybody in the Rath clan was all partied out, and we headed back to the farm. A great night that we'll all remember for a long, long time. Thanks Greg and Linda!Knut
