I guess we'll have to admit it: Summer is definately over. No Indian summer this year, actually no summer at all since we visited Jorunn in Sweden in the beginning of August. Oh well.
Had a cool hike again this weekend. We were actually headed for Grautheller in Sirdal, but with Thomas and Linda both fighting off flus, we opted for a shorter trip when we listended to the weatherforecast Saturday morning. Strong winds and snow and sleet from 800 - 1000 m. So, we ended up going to Tomannsbu instead. Only three hours to get to the cabin from Hunnedalen. The wind was amazing, constantly putting us off balance, and pushing the snow storms past us again and again. Seeing that much snowfall in the middle of September is quite new to us, even in the mountains. Earlier years, we've been able to go swimming at the beach this time of year.
Walking home again today was totally different. Quite a lot warmer, almost 10 degrees, and constant, heavy rain. Everything got drenched of course, and the trail was amazingly muddy. Streams and rivers had to be waded, as the water level was extreemly high. Wet, wet, wet!
Obviously we had a great time. Eivind came with us, so the company was great. I'm sure that one day he'll experience walking in nice weather too. This year it hasn't been too easy to find the sun and the dry spots!
