Yesterday we went skiing in Hunnedal. We picked up Eivind a little bit after 10, and were at the parking lot by the entrance to Tomannsbu around 11:30AM. The weather was relatively warm and foggy, so we had to stick to the marked trails in order to keep track of where we were. We hiked up the valley past Morten's cabin, and headed North towards Øyarvatn.

As we sat down for lunch around 2, the wind picked up, and by the time we were done eating, everything looked a lot brighter. We continued up the hills, and got to the edge of Øyarvatn before heading home.
The trip down the valley was nice, lots of wet, soft snow made the descent both easy, fast and enjoyable. Thomas brought and used his GPS, so we figured that we skied about 20km. Good start, everybody did well and felt good, so we're hoping to go again real soon.

Also, last Tuesday Thomas and I went to Bjørnestad for downhill skiing in the evening. Thomas drove the whole way up there, rain pouring and the wind howling. When we got to Bjørnestad the rain turned into snow, making the skiing quite a bit more enjoyable. The whole evening there were only eight people in the hill, including us. No lines to talk about in the lifts :)
We skied until 9PM, and when we got in the car we noticed that the roads home were pretty bad. A thick, wet layer of snow made driving conditions treacherous, but we made it home without any trouble.
Yes, we do enjoy winter too!

That's what I love, someone who loves winter and all the foibles it brings. Makes me want to take out the skis and join you!! Thanks for the lovely update. Patti
