Patti threw a wedding shower for Tali on the 20th. Mom, Linda and I went down on Friday, armed with a tray of lemon bars and toffee bars to help her get things ready. We arrived early in the afternoon and spent the rest of the afternoon getting things ready for 20 women to arrive on the following day. It was fun being together to do it all. Patti served a fruit salad, sliced veggies and dip, 4 layered sandwich cake and a good punch. For dessert we had a cheese cake and the bars we brought down. We spent time making the fillings for the sandwich cake, cheese cake, cleaning and chopping fruit and veggies, making dip, arranging flowers, wrapping gifts for the game we would play, vaccuuming, dusting and numerous other chores.
Cornell came home around 5PM with a big surprise. Mardee came up from Key West for the shower!! What a nice surprise, being able to see Mardee for a whole day! We all had a nice dinner together of pesto pizza on the porch that evening before going to bed early as there was lots to do the following day.
In the morning we did the last minute preparations. The ladies started arriving around noon and it was lots of fun to see Tali, Carolyn and Darcy again as well as meeting several of Tali's future in-laws and other friends. Tali got loads of nice gifts and everyone else left with a small gift to take home as well.
