On Sunday we all went to Minneapolis for Cornell's 60th birthday. It was a surprise party and he was almost surprised!
Not bad for something that was planned months and months ahead of time. We drove down from the Farm with Mom, Dad, Mike, Tayia and me in the van while Knut, Thomas and Linda drove the Buick. An uneventful ride down there if you don't mind a bit of back seat driving! The party was fun, we saw lots of old friends and relatives of the Anderson clan that we had not seen for years. Cornell's sister Christie made the most amazing cake. Just perfect for Cornell.
After the party, Linda drove with Tali to Hastings where Sue picked her up for 4 days of "Camp Schmidt". Really, it's a great visit with my best friend from high school who has horses and other animals. Linda had been there three times now and she has seen more of Sue than I have in the 30 years since we left school!
Knut and Thomas stayed in the cities. They were headrd to a Radiohead concert in Cleveland on Monday. Unfortunately tornado and thunderstorms hit Chicago on Monday and 350 flights were cancelled out of Chicago. So the poor guys never made it to Ohio, instead spending two days in the airport in Chicago. Dissappointed!!
I came back to the Farm with Mom, Dad, Mike and Tayia. We had a quite evening, topped off by a 4 handed cribbage game. Can't remember who won, but it must have been Dad and I! The following morning Mike and I took a nice walk before breakfast as he was off early to Hastings to help get ready for the wedding.

Later that morning Jenni and Trent showed up. They spent the day and left the following morning for a trip up to Lutson where they are looking at some property. They stopped by for dinner on the way back to the cities as well. We had a nice (if somewhat buggy) walk in the woods, Dad showed them around the gardens while Mom made a delicious dinner of venision, fresh corn, fresh veggies from the garden and a yummy salad.

After dinner we got in a game of Fictionary where "Foozle" was the evening's best word. My definition of "to hit a ball with a small wooden man on a rotating stick" was most popular and got lots of laughs. The real definition was "a stupid fella"!
The days are otherwise filled with picking all the produce that is fresh. Picked over 2 gallons of blueberries, loads of raspberries, beans, peas, onions, corn, broccoli, cauliflower and even a cucumber, but no tomatos yet!
Today, Dad and I worked on getting the sunflowers ready for Dad to pick for Tali's wedding. I pruned off the dead leaves and marked the 30 or so best flowers for Dad to cut on Friday morning before he comes down. I got carried away with all the lovely flowers and shot lots of pictures before the thunderstorm hit today.

As it rained and stormed a bit here, we ate a lunch of corn then we watched Wallace and Gromit. So, now Mom and Dad know who that is! Mom and I are off to Hastings tomorrow, Dad will follow on Friday. Let the festivities begin. Cheers to Tali and Nick!
