Early October we spent a weekend with the Omdahl family at their cabin at Knaben. We've been there many times before - enjoying the company, the surrounding mountains, the great hikes and the varying weather. This time we all managed to be there - Thorhild, Aadne, Therese and Vegard, and our whole family.
We arrived Friday night, and as soon as we got to the cabin, we sat down for dinner. Thorhild and Aadne had arrived just in time to prepare a lovely shrimp and crab meal for us. Delicious!
Saturday we hiked for seven hours. The weather wasn't spectacular, but luckily we managed to have lunch before it started raining. Again, Thorhild and Aadne had prepared the lunch, this time serving cured meats, scrambled eggs, potatoe salad and freshly baked bread. Outside and in the middle of nowhere!

In the evening I prepared lamb for dinner. We all enjoyed that too :)
Sunday the weather was better, and we climbed one of the peaks across the valley from the cabin. We only brought coffee, drinks and chocklate, and found a beautiful spot out of the wind to enjoy it with the view.
When we got back, Rebecca prepared pasta and meatballs for dinner. Driving home in the evening was smooth - listening to cd books is the way to go! Looking forward to next Knaben event already!
