May 13th - 18th

We had an fun May 17th weekend this year. For the first time in years we were outside of Sandnes. It started on the Thursday when Knut and I drove to Seljord to pick up Thomas from school. There was a dinner and a show at the school showing us all the things the students did and made during their year at Seljord. We had a great time seeing the school, meeting Thomas' friends and watching the three hour dinner/show that evening. The following morning we had breakfast at the school and packed the car full - to the brim - with Thomas' things before heading back to Sandnes. It wasn't easy for Thomas to leave all his friends, he had made several friends for life during that year.

Once home in Sandnes, we emptied the car, slept soundly in our own bed and then took off again, this time driving past Seljord and headed to Nummedal where our good friend and my earlier colleague, Graeme was to marry his Tonje. Being half scot, he wore a kilt and Tonje's dress was beautifully matched to the old Stave Church. It was a beautiful wedding and we met lots of fun and interesting people.

The following day we continued our drive towards Oslo to visit Per-Magne and Oddny Kristin at their home for Syttende Mai. They live in a small village along the beautiful Mjøsa lake. We had two delightful nights with them before working for a day in Oslo. After that Knut and I finally headed home again.

It's been a long time since we put so many miles on our car but what a fun 5 days it was!
