A weekend with no special plans was here, so Daddy, Eivind and I set off for the Blåfjellenden cabin, way up in the mountains. After packing and shopping on friday, we set off early Saturday morning. The weather was nice and the temperatures were just right for hiking.
We started off by going up a steep hill, and came to the Månafossen waterfall, where we've taken a lot of visitors before. (gangaren.blogspot.com/2006/01/mnafossen-in-wintertime.html)
We continued up the beautiful Fidjadalen valley through loads of huge rockslides and past lovely lakes. There were old, old rockslides everywhere, where trees and bushes had grown over the rocks, and all the rocks were buried - we could only tell by the deeeep holes in the ground!
September weekends are highs season for the hiking cabins, so we tried to get there a little early, so that we might get a bed! We got there around four, which is very early. All the rooms were taken already, but we found a place to but down our mattresses in the attic. We sat around and played cribbage as the cabin got fuller and fuller. For dinner Daddy made beef stroganoff, and we had a nice, relaxing evening.

The next day there was so much chaos down in the cabin (forty people, one stove) that we decided to skip the oatmeal and just eat breakfast after walking for ten minutes down the valley.
We hiked for seven hours that day, including a nice, one-hour lunch break. It was such a great weekend, nicely topped off with our soccer team, Viking, winning for the first time in over two months!
