Windy Knaben hiking

Last weekend Thomas, Linda and myself went to Knaben with Thorhild, Aadne, Vegard and Therese.

Rebecca was still coughing, and chose to stay home, as the rest of us would be out hiking all Saturday long.

We took off after work Friday, and made it to Knaben around 8PM. We had chicken, tomato salad and potatoes, and went to bed around 11. The next morning we got up early, as we had planned a 20 km hike in the mountains. Aadne made a great breakfast of eggs, bacon, bread and juice, and by nine we were outside hiking.

The weather was nice, crisp, clear and windy. The hike was great, and took us up to 1000 m peaks with astonishing views. Most of the day we stayed above the tree line, and enjoyed the spectacular colors of the fall colors in the heather, grass and moss. Thorhild had prepared stew for us, which we heated up for lunch. Prorper food for long hikes.

We made it back to the cabin around eight, happy after a long hike. Needless to say we all slept like logs that night!

Sunday we went for a short walk, enjoying the beautiful weather down in the valley of Knaben. And yes, it was not hot enough for swimming, but alas, Vegard, Therese and Thorhild did. True Vikings.
