We got the best part of easter this year. For a change, we've been skiing in nice weather for four whole days! Thomas, Linda and I took off right after work on Friday, arriving at Bykle Hotel around 11 pm. Rebecca had to stay home, fighting coughs and ear aches with antibitoics.

Just like last year, we spent easter with Ragnar, Jane, Kristin and Kjetil, and just like last year we had a very good time together. Saturday and Sunday we climbed and crossed mountains, and both days we had great snow conditions and beautiful mountainsides to ski down at the end of the day. A 600-700 m drop in untouched snow is incredible, especially when your skis are perfect and the visibility is as good as it can get.

Monday we went downhill skiing at Hovden. Also nice, but compared to the peace and magnitude of an empty mountain range, it was a bleaker experience. Tuesday we therefore climbed up to 1300 m, and found a great decent down the valley on our way home. That day we saw 10 reindeer climb a mountainside and disappear into the next valley. Way cool - and yet another great day of skiing.

Staying at Bykle Hotel is almost too easy. They served us superb dinners and great breakfasts, and they let us pack lunch bags for our daily excursions. Great hosts and great service - we've already made our reservations for next year.. hopefully both Jane and Rebecca can then join us on our skitrips :-)
