Remodelling II

Another week has gone by and we are pleased with the progress. I just hope it keeps up at this pace! I thought I'd start by showing where and how we are living in the meantime. Not extremely comfortable, but we'll be just fine. Here is where we have moved everything. The office is stuffed and has become the kitchen counters,

while the wash room has become the location of the kitchen sink.

They have poured cement over the foundation so now the mice have no where to stay warm this winter. Poor babies.

The kitchen is starting to look like a real room now. The walls are built out covering the pipes, insulated, and most important, the room will now be square. A strange and new concept in this old house.

The living room is under attack as well. We'll be putting in a new ceiling there, so we had to remove all the furniture. We left a few things so we could use the living up to the last minute.

When we came home today, the remaining furniture was piled on top of each other and covered with plastic. The ceiling is torn out.

We'll be removing the wall paper and painting the walls. We have finally picked out the color of the walls, cupboards, counter tops and floor. The floor will be slate tiles, the counter top will be a light grey silestone. The livingroom walls are a light grey (the color is called "white linen"), while the kitchen walls are a wee bit darker ("warm linen") the cupboards are a deeper blue-grey ("blue harmony") I think the names are a hoot, but I love the colors.
