Siril and Franks wedding

Siril and Frank got married yesterday.

They got married at the Sviland chapel, the same chapel where Siril was baptized and confirmed. It is a chraming church and the wedding was even more so. The guests sat in the church with the well known expectancy on all our faces. Waiting to see Siril and Tore come down the isle together. Waiting to see Frank's face as he watches his bride walk down the isle more beautiful than he's ever seen her before. The bells were ringing, everyone was waiting, the bells stopped and then - nothing. A few suppressed smiles all around, a little scream from behind the closed doors. "Ah!" we think, Amalie's not too sure about mom and dad getting married! The bells ring again and again they stop.

The door opens and Jorunn comes in at a quick pace, beautiful in her Jæren national dress, her hair done elegantly, carring an empty plactic bag in one hand with a smug smile on her face while hurring to her seat. She is so cute!

Finally the doors open again, the organ bursts into the bridal march and in come three darling little girls, nieces of Siril and Frank. Drerssed in lilac dresses and carring a basket filled with rose petals, they walked as gracefully as they could tossing rose petals on the isle after them. I recall their grandmother telling them - one last time - "Remember, tiny mouse steps and gently strew the petals on the isle. Don't thorw them all over the place!"

Then we see Siril and Tore, with Amalie unwilling in tow.

It was a bit too much for the little girl. She hid behind Siril looking like she didn't want to be there. But she knew what was going on and did her best.

She made it to the alter and was relived when the attention became more focused on the priest and her parents. For the rest of the ceremony she sat with her three cousins in front of the wedding party and entertained us with thier childish antics while her parents got married behind her.

It was one of the most charming things I have seen.

Thank-you Siril and Frank for inviting us.

The parents and the newlyweds.
